We ran some reports to see what our 2007 bestsellers were. There were a few surprises, but mostly the reports made us say, "Ooh, yeah, I loved that book". Here are the five top-selling books of 2007 (by category):

Hardcovers
1. Rollback, Robert J. Sawyer
2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, J.K. Rowling
3. Spook Country, William Gibson
4. Birthstones, Phyllis Gotlieb
5. Heart Of Valor, Tanya Huff

Mass Market
1. Old Man's War, John Scalzi
2. Empire Of Ivory, Naomi Novik
3. Spin, Robert Charles Wilson
4. His Majesty's Dragon, Naomi Novik, tied with Ghost Brigades, John Scalzi
5. Glasshouse, Charles Stross

Trade Paperback
1. Overclocked, Cory Doctorow
2. Lies Of Locke Lamora, Scott Lynch
3. Cast In Secret, Michelle Sagara
4. Black Man, Richard Morgan
5. Bad Monkeys, Matt Ruff, tied with In And Down, Brett Alexander Savory

Young Adult (which I'm doing separately, because we categorize them that way)
1. The Thief, Megan Whalen Turner
2. Polaris, Julie E. Czerneda, ed.
3. Fly By Night, Frances Hardinge
4. Princess Academy, Shannon Hale
5. King Of Attolia, Megan Whalen Turner

Wow, it's interesting to see that JK didn't rule the roost everywhere. Just almost everywhere.

Gee, I think I have almost half of these. Maybe I should buy more books.

Wow. Leah talked me into 3 of the 5 YA (and I'd already decided on a 4th) for Christmas gifts. I'm almost completist enough to pick up Polaris. Not quite, but almost.

Hot damn

I'm flabbergasted! So cool to be included, although that Doctorow character certainly needs to be taken down a notch! *laughs*
